Not being an actual Shield accessory, theres not going to be any drivers in the Shields OS so basically you are left with a functioning controller but with no audio. Also, the CEC does work with my TV and have no volume control at all (only IR works). I assume what is happening is that the Shield is seeing the controller as not only a controller, but as an audio device and is trying to route all audio through the controller.

IR control from my 2019 Shield Pro remote works very well for both powering on my TV and AVR and controlling volume on my AVR but for some reason the Denon codes do not freaking seem to be working for input select. My other 2019 remote paired with my 2017 Shield works fine with Google Voice in all aspects including turning on off TV/Shield, volume controls, and muting. IR control works for AVR volume but not input control. The feature, which was spotted by 9to5Google, is a helpful option if you misplace a physical remote control. It will navigate apps within the tube, but will not do volume. Google has updated its Google Home Android app to add a built-in remote for Android TV, Google TV, and other devices like the Nvidia Shield.
